Book Review : Sunburst

Picking up a Susan May Warren book is like going back home after months or years of being away! You still know just about everyone, you are thrilled to reconnect to many and while you may have missed a snippet or two you are going to jump right back in where you left!

Sunburst was just that for me!! I have not kept up with Susan May Warren (how can you, this woman puts out books faster than anyone I know). Between being busy and life, I have missed a couple books in this GIANT series! However, every time I jump back in I love being back either with Sky King Ranch, Christiansen Family and so many others!

The three sons of the man who owns Sky King Ranch are Ranger, Colt and Dodge. A while back Colt and Dodge had a huge falling out over a girl, go figure! This book picks up a couple years later and we find Ranger, a former Navy Seal, attempting to rescue his brother Colt from a hostage situation half way across the globe. During the rescue he also liberates two women, one who happens to be a woman from his past.

Following the rescue, there are many problems the group encounter, for one Noemi, the woman Ranger knows, cannot just leave the country, instead she and Ranger make their way to her family she barely remembers. Through their entire journey they are questioning why the hostage situation happened while being followed and attacked.

There are tons of twists and turns especially until the couple make their way back to Sky Ranch in Montana to a “safe” place. Until… well I cannot tell you what happens, but this one will keep you on the edge of your seat and glued to your book or Kindle. It is super fast paced.

One of my absolute favorite things about Ms. Warrens books is the family ties and connections. I cannot get enough of the eternal bond these families have and their unconditional love for each other, no matter what!

If you have not read one of Susan May Warrens books, grab one and jump in!!

Sunburst (Sky King Ranch #2)

When former Navy Seal and lifelong bachelor Ranger Kingston is called upon to take part in a rescue mission to save his brother Colt, who has been kidnapped by terrorists in Nigeria, he is shocked to find among the hostages a woman he knows and could never forget.

Noemi Sutton was attempting to return a young girl to her family in Boko Haran territory when she and the girl found themselves taken hostage, along with several others.

And while Ranger Kingston may be able to get the hostages away from their captors, he’ll need Noemi’s help if he ever hopes to get out of Nigeria alive.

Her solution? Pose as husband and wife. But when her uncle discovers the union, he insists on a traditional Nigerian wedding–binding Noemi to a man destined to break her heart. Worse, she’s discovered the real reason she was kidnapped, and anyone around her is bound to be caught in the cross fire. Including her so-called new husband.

She’ll need to figure out a way to leave the man she loves if she wants to save his life.

USA Today bestselling author Susan May Warren throws you into the thick of the action in this high-stakes, globe-trotting romance.
