Beard Balm

Are you wondering what this little gem is?

IMG_6029Well, wonder no longer!  This is an amazing little balm that is for men.  They scoop a little out with their finger, rub their hands together and then work this into their beard.  The results?  The smell first is amazing!  I mixed in the following oils, for the following reasons: {following Grace’s recipe here}

orange – antiseptic, treats acne

cedarwood – treats acne, anti-fungal, astringent

lavender – treats acne, prevents itching, helps dry and fragile hair

cinnamon – astringent, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal

frankincense – strengthens hair roots, astringent

This lovely product will help smooth out those whiskers as they grow and it will also offer some great nourishment to the skin and the hair!  This product is seriously a win-win!!

If you order some soap from me and mention *BeardBalm* I will throw in a sample for you to try!!

Soap Fun

Well, its official!  I’m selling soap!!

I finally launched my ETSY store!

And I have a new Facebook page!

And lots of soap to share with others~

I am so in love with this goat milk soap that if I use any other soap I notice within an hour of my shower!!  This soap leaves my skin happy and nourished!!

So check it out and let me know what you think!!

Valentines Soap {coming up}

I finally have my soap on ETSY – and hope to get out to a few stores shortly to get some soap selling in town!

Today I made some valentine Heart soaps – a Cinnamon Orange scent (that is wonderful!)

It smells like my favorite tea : Harney & Sons, Hot Cinnamon Spice.  Yum!!  Can’t wait to see how the swirls turned out with the red and creamy colors.  This is my first recipe with Lard and Castor oil too!  Castor Oil is supposed to make a very moisturizing soap and the Lard makes a harder soap that will last longer.

And of course, every bar has our own honey in it!!
I sure love to make soap!!

Soap Making 101

We had a blast yesterday with a new friend Rita!!  She recently purchased goat milk from me for soap making.  When she picked it up she kept encouraging me to make my own soap.  However, I feel like I have too many irons in the fire already and then to think about adding LYE to the mix made me crazy!!

Then, I made a point to notice all the goat milk soap for sale at many places we frequent.  It is everywhere!!  I did not want to start making something that I had to find a way to sell.  When a friend told my husband he wants us to start making soap so he can sell it at his stand that was the final nudge I needed!!

Here is my mom all safety-geared up!

So we trekked out to Winnsboor yesterday to learn how to make soap!  What fun we had and what a lot of soap we came home with!!  Now the hardest part, patience while we wait for it to cure.

We were all involved!!  Look at all that soap!!

We did get to take some already cured soap home and Anna quickly put it in her bathroom.  Every time I was by I can smell the wonderful scent wafting out!!  So much better than the normal boy-bathroom aroma that is usually there!!

So stay tuned as we embark on a new adventure!!!
